This is the strangest thing. The stockinette started rolling mid way through the body. Hopefully blocking will make it lay flat

Kindness

A good friends son has just been deployed to a scary place. He is military intelligence. He requested food, and basic sundries. They are in a location where 2 meals a day is the norm. Just tough to get stuff in. They announce it at knitting in case anyone would like to add a something for him and his unit to their shopping list. Anyway. Then a woman who just happened to be having lunch there stopped at the table and gave my friend a stack of bills and said for your son. Then dashed away.

A truly random act of kindness. Such a nice thing to do.

Finished my second yoked cardigan. What a great pattern.

Spent the weekend at the lake. Knitted, read, watched the world go by. My friend dropped off 27 pairs of crocheted booties for charity. It was motivating.

Today at knitting 3 of us had our iPads out comparing patterns and pictures on ravelry. Last week same thing. Who would have guessed a year ago I'd have to worry about having my technology charged and wireless access when I packed my knitting bag.

Well I've taken the plunge. DD2 set up a pinterest account for me. I'm not sure how far down that rabbit hole I'll find myself. I have steadfastly avoided facebook, linkedin, and twitter for years. I am an avid follower of ravelry, zite, and a handful of apps/games. I really am not sure that I need another time suck. But now I'm pinteresting with the rest of the cool kids.
