Saturday was for golf

Went to a LPGA "legends" golf tourney on Saturday. Beautiful day. Good company. And got to see some legends, I.e. older women golfers play.

Two steps forward. One step back.

I frogged my second attempt at using the cascade Sierra. I as making the Zoe cardigan, a perfectly lovely pattern. But when I tried it on the medium was huge! Someday I will find the right pattern for the yarn.

I finished my first Turkish sock. They will be great with Dansko clogs.

I made up a shawl pattern to use up my last skein of a nice rayon I picked up at Joann fabrics last year.

I started a wingspan out of a skein of handprints fingering weight for knit picks.

So progress is being made. I think I'll start a summer weight top for me this weekend.

Progress

Finished a pair of short socks. They are fraternal twins rather then identical.
I'm not completely happy with the fit. They turned out a bit loose around the ankle.

I'm making progress on my Zoe cardigan. In the Sierra Quattro the medium still looks like it may be an bit large. But I will keep going. The cotton may shrink a little when washed. The pattern is easy to follow.

I'll follow the final day of the Masters and plod along.

Mystery solved.

I thought this mystery yarn was supposed to be a wingspan. It was not! It was supposed to be a potato chip scarf. Mystery solved.

Bird feeder ewwwww!

This is why I won't have a bird feeder at our fl place. Our neighbor spotted this palm rat snacking at their bird feeder. My understanding is that snakes join the party after rats. So no feeders for me.

Just isn't working

I tried the sweater on.. I did the shaping. I got to the point where you begin the short row shaping and realized that I will never wear this sweater. It represents a lot of hours of stockingette. But it really just seems so shapeless and unflattering for my height and build I give up. Rather then plodding on and having a sweater that never gets worn I will frog.it is hard to admit that you've spent a lot of time on a mistake. Instead I think the yarn will become a Zoe cardigan. Something I can toss on over a t. Seems much more practical.

I also spent some time in my closet. I have a large bag of things that just aren't working for me anymore that will be heading to a local charities thrift shop. I've admitted they will never be worn again. So off they go. I also pulled out some questionable things that I'm just not ready to part with....I will look at them again at a later date.
