Yucky day.

Today the grey sky's continued.   I started repacking my grandmothers china so we can move it north to store.   Going thru the things I moved out of my moms house was much harder then I expected.  I guess because I had to move so fast and think so little during the original clean out of her house I didn't have time to really process.  Today was hard.

Then I decided to sync my iPad to my MacBook and clean off some music, photos and apps that were just taking up space.   But I found out tonight when I went to reference some account information that I store on my iPad that it had disappeared.  Some lists stayed....the type of nail polish a friend was wearing, a book I want to look up, a couple recipes.   But notes that are really important...router numbers, account numbers, password, my golf I'd. Disappeared!   So I've been on the phone with apple.  They tech support people were very kind.  They couldn't find the data but they filled a request with more senior techs.  Fingers crossed.

Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

Memorial

Memorial Day weekend.   A time for doing outdoor cabin chores.   Doing the first tour of the lake on a boat.   But instead it was a time for cleaning out the kitchen cupboards and drawers.  And LINING them, with the shelf paper I bought 3 or 4 years ago and put in a cupboard.   It was a timing of repackage boxes of Dickens Village houses from my mothers house.   And purging drawers of ratty looking clothes..."lake clothes" to be replaced with less ratty looking things.

It was a time to go into town with dd2 and a friend for lunch and a search for a dress to wear to a wedding.

It was a time to rent a movie.  Finish some knitting. And finally to play bingo at the local legion.

After nothing but losing cards, dh did win at the end.  So a good night.

Sweet tooth

What a rabbit hole I've fallen down!  I started playing Candy Crush on my iPad.   It's one of those matching games.  Sounds ever so easy, but gets more challenging with each level.
I won't breakdown and buy more time or things to help me clear the board. Nor will I pay for more lives.  It's a timed game.   So I play my allowed free time, then quit.   Then come back again and again and again.

Very strange since I have never been interested in video games until I got my iPad.

Our bags are packed

I shipped one box of misc. stuff.   The bears from the Motherbear knitters will ride in my carry on bag.

The landscape guys were here today.  And with my solemn assurances that I did in fact want the perennial bushes and flowers trimmed way back followed thru...now my lovely huge flowering things have been cut down to about 6 inches.  Which means they will be a nice height when we return in the fall.

The last of the laundry is in the machine.   The fridge and freezer have been emptied.

Goodbyes have been said.

We are on our way.

Heading north

The process to migrate north has started in earnest.   Golf clubs have been packed.  A box of things I don't want to bother with going thru airport security has been packed.  And all have been deposited at ups to begin their flight north.

Laundry is being washed.  The fridge is emptying.    Bags of things deemed unneeded have been delivered to. Local thrift store.

The only yarn traveling north is in the form of wips.

In just a few days we will have migrated.

The advantage of good lighting

I started a new project for me. The Lacy Summer Tank by Janelle Masters. I've had the pattern in my stash since 2009. I bought the yarn this year with something else in mind. I started the sweater on Wednesday, watching TV, in dim light. While I thought the beginning lace rows were fine, in the light of day they looked like they'd been knit by a drunken monkey. Although a knit friend upon seeing my mess said it wasn't really wasn't fair to cast such aspersions on monkeys. So I frogged and began again, in bright daylight. With a much better outcome. There is much to be said for good lighting....and better focus.

Dd1 made me the fun tool bag. The exterior fabric is knitting terms. The interior fabric is balls of yarn. I love it.

Winging along

Knitting a wingspan using a lovely knit picks stroll. Hand painted jewel tones.
Not sure who will get the FO. Not much value in Florida.
