All done.

I haven't posted for months.  Not because I haven't knit, but because I have been getting spam from the comments section. Not a lot, but it just seems to get odder and odder.  So I am done posting.

Wildlife.

Golfing in Florida is often a chance to get close to nature.  Last week mid backswing I heard a loud splash..I was near water.  I mentioned it to the ambassador who said "probably an alligator."  Luckily it was going into the water nearby not coming out.  Saturday while look g for my husbands ball by a pond we saw these 2 lounging in the sun.  

Success

Knit a "shapely boyfriend cardigan", a knitty.com free pattern for dd2. Using stash yarn purchased for a long forgotten project.  The color is perfect for work, someplace where red and khaki are the required colors.  It fits, she likes it, success!

Gauge!

So my thumbs have been bothering me for a couple of weeks. The result of weather,  repetitive motion, aging, etc.  so I haven't been knitting as much...but I haven't quit completelly.  My results in the same Same 5 day span using the same yarn, same stitch count,same knitter (me), the difference in gauge to put it mildly..huge.  I will be ripping out the new sock until I can get comparable gauge. 

Blah.

I knit head covers on request.  I am done.  And it will be some time before I do more of these.   

They are super easy.  Cast on 36. Knit in the round until you get the length sleeve you desire.  Move to a larger needle and start carrying the fun fur along with the base color.  

Beads anyone

I've never incorporated beads into my knitting.  I should say successfully incorporated.  I tried the dental floss threaders. But they didn't work for me inspire of some excellent online tutorials.  So I bought a nifty looking thing called beadaid from a website of the same name.  But I never used them. I loaned them out and friends used them with success.  So I deided to give it a try with some lovely yarn that was a souvenir of a fun day trip with friends.  And ya know what they work like a charm.  I will no longer be reluctant to attempt patterns that call for beads.  Or in this case, add them just because.

Finished a project.

Finally finished a project, as opposed to just the knit and frog that's been my life lately.

Two yarns.  Blue Herron and something called Silver.  The picture doesn't do it justice.  Both yarns have bits of sparkle and lovely drape.  It has been gifted to a knitting friend.  

And how fun are these shoes.  I had some of those "bucks" stores give you for spending so much AND they were half off. So I didn't have to work to hard to justify buying them.  Plus dh said they will be good to wear when we go to some upcoming concerts.

Knit worthy babes

A friend, a new knitter, just had her first grandson.  Winter is coming to Ohio and I thought he should have a hand knit hat.  Since she was not comfortable knitting it I stepped up to keep his little noggin warm.   

These little fish hats are a fun quick knit. 

Halloween

We were invited to a post golf Halloween party.  Costumes from the neck up.  I had a hat, dh had. Itching.  So I knit him a pumpkin hat.  It reminded me that when it comes to hats, he has a big head. I didn't realize how big until the hat was done and on his head.

Happy anniversaries

I finished two fifth anniversary wraps.  It is the perfect car riding/tv watching project.

Finishing and starting

Finally finished the afterthought heel in the socks I knit driving from Florida to Minnesota. 

Started a shawl for the drive back south. 

Post wedding knitting enthusiasm

The week after the wedding my strawberry hydrangeas turned pink.  They are beautiful, but the timing was just a bit off.  

After nothing but dishcloths and a scarf for a month I felt a burst of renewed knitting energy.  So I finished an easy top down sweater in a week.   I used some berrocco acrylic purchased on sale last year.  Soft to knit work horse kind of project.  Just what I needed to get my knitting mojo back. Plus a bit of a stash buster.  Double win!

I'm not well versed in bat removal.  DH is in the cities for meetings, the handyman that we call is in Kansas.  I don't want to do anything that might prompt him to wake up and start panic flying around the cabin so he's harder to evict.  And putting on gloves and grabbing him for removal just isn't in my skill set.   😜

After the rush of preparations, the fun of the event and the series storms we've had in the past few days. This is truly the picture of peaceful.   Still lake, no boats, blue sky.

At a point where everything seems unfinished..,a finished object.  It's a hitchhiker scarf for the red scarf project.  

Fishy baby hat

For the neighbors upcoming baby.  Mom and Dad both love to fish. So it seemed appropriate.   The yarns a yummy shibui sock weight.  It might make the baby look a wee bit like its being eaten by aliens.

Red scarf project

The Villages guild is knitting red scarves for the red scarf project.  I just happen to have some long ago purchased red yarn.  So I thought perfect, I'm in!  I did my pattern scarf on rav, and began.  Didn't like it, * frogged, began again with a new pattern.   Repeat process for the * multiple times.   Four patterns and a hours of Netflix streaming later this is what I have to show for my time.
