Coming off a great weekend.

Spent Thursday - Sunday with friend. I played in her two day guest golf event. We took 3rd in our flight, which we thought was a great finish. If we'd golfed any better Aeolus have had to be in a shoot off with the top team in each bracket. With everyone watching! I think it would have been hard to golf while throwing up out of nervousness. So we took our 25 prize gift certificate and left happy. Bargin shopper that I am I used the money towards a shirt on clearance in the club shop.

When we weren't golfing we had a nice times visiting with our friends. I also managed to get going on another pair of short sox from stash yarn. Green cotton blend. On the. Drive I fit thorough the heel and guesset and started on the foot.

Last night watching dvr'd episodes of in plain sight I picked up the stitches for the sleeve of my summer knit tee. Hope to finish it up this week. I will post pic's of everything soon.

Life in the guest lane

We've had very little company to our FL home this year. This week we had friends from up north, this weekend we will be guest somewhere else, and then another round of northern visitors. Luckily he weather has cooperated.

Today is a break so a good day for catch up. You know the exciting things, disha, laundry, a quick trip to target. And maybe a little knitting..

I finished my hitchhiker scarf/shawlette. It will be headed north to my charity knitting group. Fun easy pattern, would recommend it. Finished the bottom ribbing and started binding off on the summer sweater for me. Then on to the sleeves.

Pictures to follow. Then I have to get back to the ta ta's. I truly admire the knitters who have made many of these knit breast prosthetics. I just can not get inspired to work on them.

Oops!

Normally my oops here would be about a dropped stitch and a frogged project. Unfortunately my latest oops is that in the course of gesturing while talking I managed to tip my full glass of Cabernet across a table. And it was my first glass so can't even blame it on anything. Good news missed our friends light khaki shorts. Bad news hit dh new iPhone. Think it will be ok. He grabbed it ASAP. But it's beed sitting in a bag if rice to absorb any residual mositure. when he dropped his last phones into the lake, yep happened more then once, we opened them up and let the components dry. The iPhone doesn't open.😰 so cross yor finger while we hope for the best.

It has been terribly windy here the past days with more to come. I know if you've been shoveling snow that doesn't sound like much, but it has been the horrible. Like house falling on a witch kind of wind. So I think today will be a stay indoors, watch Netflix movies.

sensing a theme

I must be feeling tropical. I've started two new projects. A Pure and Simple V-neck sweater

And a pair of plain vanilla socks in Fortissima Mexiko Color

Both look like a day at the beach. Both have spend significant time in the frog pond. The yarn for the sweater is abit slippy, so I've had to pick up dropped stitches several times. And knit, frog, reknit rows to make sure the increase rate is the same. When I finally got a real rhythm going I realized I'd knit about 12 rows to many. So tink away. Now the sleeves are on waste yarn and fingers crossed smooth knitting from here on. The socks were almost to the toe decrease when I couldn't convince myself any longer that they would be big enough to survive the wash and still fit. You know that feeling.. something "just fits" and you know in your heart of hearts that won't be enough for the long run. But I knit on anyway. Until finally with it snuggly on my foot I realized it wouldn't end well. So rip it. CO a few more stitches and I feel much more confident.

out of the box

Things that came out of boxes. First, the desk that came in a big flat box from Target.com

You can see it was put to work. Amazingly the extra chair from my dining room table looks perfect with it. I suspect its not ergonomically correct, but it looks good and for now that is enough.

Second, my kitchen table from Costco.com

We love it! I really liked the look of my pub height table, but it really is better to be able to sit at the table and not have your feet fall asleep. A local resale store bought the old one.

Finally, yarn out of the box. Well actually out of the bins that hold my stash. I've been feeling a certain lack of knitting mojo these days. I finished a small project for dd2. Did gauge swatches for a mystery sweater, a new ravelry KAL from sunfunliving. Nothing in my stash looked like it was going to work for the sweater, and I really need to knit from stash vs. knitting from the LYS. So I have been searching for a project. Yesterday during the Super Bowl I started a Pure and Simple Tee shirt out of Crystal Palace Waikiki. I got gauge. So I'm really hoping this is a good match.

It's a thick and thin yarn with brilliant shades of pink, purple and orange. It reminds me of a summer sunset or a rum punch.

I will revisit the mystery sweater in the spring when I return to MN. It won't be much of a mystery at that point, but I do like her designs and really want to make this sweater.

But for now, everything that I work on must come out of the boxes in my closet.
